As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Project Estimator to join our team.
Position Overview:
As a Project Estimator at Hitson, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of our projects by providing accurate and thorough cost estimates.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in millworks, possess exceptional analytical skills, and be adept at collaborating with various stakeholders.
This role requires a meticulous attention to detail, a deep understanding of project requirements, and the ability to leverage industry knowledge to produce precise estimates.
Responsibilities:
Project Analysis:
Conduct comprehensive reviews of project specifications, architectural drawings, and other relevant documents to understand the scope of work and materials required.
Cost Estimation:
Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates for millworks projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs.
Vendor and Supplier Relations:
Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and negotiate favorable terms to ensure cost-effectiveness.
Bid Preparation:
Prepare and submit well-organized and competitive bids in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with client requirements and project specifications.
Collaboration:
Work closely with project managers, architects, and other team members to gather information, clarify project details, and address any concerns or questions related to the estimation process.
Cost Tracking:
Monitor and track project costs throughout the lifecycle, providing regular updates to project teams and management as needed.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay abreast of industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and advancements in millworks technology to enhance the accuracy and competitiveness of cost estimates.
Qualifications:
2 years experience as a Project Estimator in the millworks industry.
Strong knowledge of millworks materials, construction methods, and industry best practices.
Proficient in using estimation software and tools.
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing accurate and reliable estimates.
